How To Achieve True Freedom As An Entrepreneur
All entrepreneurs tell me that they want “freedom”. Though almost none can tell me what “freedom” means.
If pressed, the best they can do is “NOT the bad things that I don’t like”:
“Not” a job
“Not” a boss
“Not” debt”
“Not” deadlines
“Not” location
“Nots” do not define goals.
Without a concrete definition and visualization of “freedom”, you’re never going to achieve it.
Let me get the ball rolling. As with anything I teach, I welcome new entrepreneurs and intellectuals to improve and perfect this:
Freedom in business, is when you can move an entire industry toward whichever ethical outcome you desire. Your potential to create is no longer bound. You can sculpt your world in your image.
You choose the problems you want to solve, you choose how you want to solve them, and you are rewarded for it. The status quo and opinions of well-wishers are irrelevant.
Today, only a minute fraction of entrepreneurs achieve this freedom. Think Jobs and Musk.
With objective thinking and unwavering perseverance, you can achieve it too. Though it is not a right. It is something you must earn, by mastering a great deal of business functions, and by establishing undeniable proof and credibility.
How do you launch yourself toward this ideal? Define it. Visualize it. Move toward it.
